What a 2-year-old girl likes

‘You like Daisy. I like Minnie.’

Baby Girl has now decided my favourite Disney character is Daisy, and her favourite Disney character is Minnie.

I’ve tried hinting that I actually like Minnie too, but 27-month-old Baby Girl is having none of it. Minnie is taken. I need to like Daisy instead.

Minnie seems to have a lot of young fans. I’ve definitely noticed many of Baby Girl’s friends also share the same interest in Minnie, and the Minnie toys, artefacts and experiences are bound to be popular Christmas presents for this age group.

Here are 3 of Baby Girl’s favourite Minnie experiences to date:

1. We queued for more than an hour to meet Minnie in Disneyland Paris on a Saturday in August, but seeing her happy face was so worth it. I can’t wait to take her back to Disneyland.

2. Later this autumn, Minnie and Mickey made an appearance a bit closer to home. Baby Girl loves a family day out at a fun fair, and the best so far must have been the one where she met Minnie and Mickey at the fun fair too. I’ve now seen John Parnham Funfairs advertising Minnie and Mickey appearances several times.

3. I’ve taken Baby Girl to the Disney Store at Harrods several times, and the incredibly friendly staff have given her stickers or a Minnie paper headband when hearing they have a Minnie fan visiting the shop. A trip to the Disney Store, where there are large fury Disney characters, also makes for a fun outing for a little one!
