3 unique Christmas experiences for London families

In the past weeks I’ve noticed how fast some London Christmas experiences sell out, and if any readers have had problems securing the all-important Father Christmas meet-and-greets or other events to get in the spirit of Christmas, here are three more suggestions:

Father Christmas at the Hall
Last year I was invited to review the Royal Albert Hall Father Christmas experience–Father Christmas at the Hall–and I left feeling it was a festive event with a historic twist. The historic setting and the magic of Royal Albert Hall made for a believable Father Christmas experience, which I felt was particularly good for school-aged children. Today Royal Albert Hall announced this year’s experience will take visitors on an interactive journey through the Hall’s beautiful spaces, magically transformed winter wonderland and guided by characters including a musical Snow Queen. It is described as the Hall’s most immersive and theatrical Father Christmas experience yet, and children will get to meet Mrs Claus in a winter grotto before meeting Father Christmas. The experience will run from 5 to 24 December.

Christmas at Blenheim
The other evening I found myself watching a video online about Christmas at Blenheim after receiving a news release about the magical after-dark experience that takes visitors on a one-mile path through Blenheim Palace’s transformed landscape and gardens. Although it would probably take close to one and a half hour to drive to Blenheim Palace from South West London, I’ve already mentioned the event to friends. It looked truly stunning in the video, and I would have loved to visit Blenheim Palace in the run up to Christmas to experience a twinkling tunnel and singing trees. Christmas at Blenheim runs from 24 November to 1 January.

Father Christmas at Hamleys
I was meant to review Father Christmas at Hamleys last year, but the experience ended up begin sold out and I noticed now that the slots for meeting Father Christmas at the Regent Street toy shop appear to be going fast this year too. I like the sound of the Hamleys Father Christmas experience because of the toy shop-setting and the children get to take part in seasonal activities in addition to meeting Father Chrismtas. The little ones also leave with a special gift bag, and the experience is available from 25 November to 24 December.
