5 things I’ve learnt about Halloween

1. Fake blood is not as easy to wipe off as it looks. I was walking around with orange patches on my face yesterday after a bad attempt to look spooky on Saturday and forgetting to wipe it off before bedtime

2. Halloween is one of the few times you can really get away with anything from inflatable decorations to centrepieces with sound buttons and funny-looking vegetables brightening up the front porch and garden. It’s cool to make the most of it!

3. Halloween may be one day, but Londoners love celebrating early and it’s easy to make good use of costumes. Big Girl and Baby Boy will be in Halloween outfits for the fifth time today

4. The loot bag or bucket is crucial. We didn’t have one the first year we celebrated with Big Girl, but this year I have an alarm on my phone to remember to bring it to the party she’s going to

5. Long sleeved black kids tops and black tights should be much easier to find. With black basics, Halloween costumes can often look much more spooky.

Happy Halloween!
