Must-have toys for outdoor fun

Last year, Baby Girl got upset when feeling grass under her feet. But this year our city-baby is very excited about our new evergreen garden–particularly when there are fun toys to play with. Here are some basic toys for outdoor fun:

Ball
When we first moved in, we only had a ball to play with outside, but it’s still a clear favourite. There have been lots of days when we’ve just been running around kicking and throwing the ball around while laughing hysterically.

Watering can
The watering can might not have been brilliant for the flower bed, which now has a big hole on one side, but it’s been very exciting to ‘help’ looking after the flowers. Baby Girl has become a keen gardener, watering her area of the flower bed with a full can a dozen times in a row on some days. The only challenge is that I have to run back and forth to get her the water – and think of a way to fix the hole situation.

Bubbles
Another outdoor favourite in our house is bubble mixture. We have bought a battery-operated bubble toy, which I’m sure we’ll try out soon, but for now, we’ve loved playing with traditional bubbles too. Any bubbles seem to do it. Baby Girl loves running after them, and they’re excellent for when we’re having friends over, as it is of course easy to ensure there are more than enough bubbles for everyone to catch!
