Best tips for feeding baby on the go

Foogo thermos and Ella's foodI’m not sure Baby Girl loves her new eating arrangement. She was used to having lunch served hot in the restaurant at family club Purple Dragon on most days. But in the past two weeks, she’s had to get used to a much simpler lifestyle. She’s been on holiday and she’s often had her lunch on the go, sometimes served in the car, on the beach, or in the buggy.

And since she’s not a big fan of ready-made protein meals, I’ve had to come up with other alternatives. Here are my top tips for feeding baby on the go:

– Invest in a thermos. The Foogo thermos comes everywhere with us and keeps food warm for hours. Yesterday it was filled with macaroni and minced meat cooked with chopped tomatoes.

– Try finger foods that baby can eat without staining every single item of clothing. One of my holiday favourites has been filling pitta bread with tuna and cheese, cooking it in the oven for a few minutes to melt the cheese, and cutting the bread into strips to make it easy for 11-month old Baby Girl to eat on the go.

– Find bibs that are easy to pack and clean. I like the Bibisili bibs, which have a crumb catcher but can be rolled up, making them better for travelling than some other bibs in this style.

this may seem a silly one, but have you discovered KOKO spoon ends that fit on the pouches that are so readily available.. BABY Girl may be too old for it now as she can probably suck by herself.. but they are invaluable to a busy London City mum like me who is always caught out with a hungry 7 month old http://www.koko-innovates.com/koko-news/pouch-spoon
    available at TESCO x

Hi Leila, Thanks for sharing. Yes, this must be perfect for babies who are too young to suck out the content of a pouch themselves. Tine
