Getting ready for New Year’s Eve with Marie-Chantal partyware

Marie-Chantal - AW15 - flat - long party dress‘She can’t wear that’

‘Eh yes. She has to wear that’

Grandpa P couldn’t quite understand why three-year-old Big Girl was wearing a dress when we were getting ready to go skiing in Norway the other day. I didn’t quite see the problem. I’m now used to her wearing a dress for every occasion, so I was simply happy she was wearing something without too big a skirt.

We could easily have gone skiing with a big party dress floating over the ski trousers, but this time I’d managed to get her to save the stunning party dress she received as a gift from Marie-Chantal for New Year’s Eve instead.

The Marie-Chantal dress she received is the ultimate party dress with a layered skirt, and seeing the dress reminded me about Marie-Chantal’s fabulous partyware for girls. Big Girl has had several dresses from Marie-Chantal in the past few years, and I’ve picked them because they’ve been chic and beautiful.

I’m sure she’s not the only London girl who’ll be dressed in Marie-Chantal this evening either. The current collection includes a gorgeous gold jacquard party dress (was £275, now £137) with a dropped-back and gold tulle hem (see picture), which would make a fabulous New Year’s outfit and special occasion dress. For a smart look, there’s also a stylish A-line jacquard shift dress (was £175, now £87), which I think looks super versatile and pretty.

Bring on New Year’s, birthdays and family events!

Marie-Chantal has shops in Walton Street in Chelsea and Ledbury Road in Notting Hill. There’s also a Marie-Chantal concession on the fourth floor in Harrods
