Feeling safe with baby in original Grobag sleeping bag

Grobag cut out shotI can’t say seven-month-old Baby Boy is a brilliant sleeper, but there’s one thing that makes me sleep better when he’s actually sleeping.

A sleeping bag.

A baby sleeping bag was one of the first things we were recommended to buy when shopping for baby essentials the first time around, and I know several friends have had the Grobag in all sizes.

That’s why I’ve been excited to try the original sleeping bag from Grobag with Baby Boy. Grobag sleeping bags come in a large variety of styles, and we received the Peek-a-Boo Grobag (£29.99) from The Gro Company to review after Big Girl helped pick her favourite for Baby Boy at The Baby Show in October.

It’s since become one of my favourite sleeping bags for Baby Boy, as it makes me feel confident baby is safe when he’s asleep. I like the concept of sleeping bags since there’s no duvet or blanket that could cover baby’s mouth and nose without us knowing, and I particularly like the Grobag sleeping bag because of the care that’s been taken to cover the zipper.

With Baby Boy enjoying to chew on just about everything, zippers on sleeping bags have become a concern. The zipper on the Grobag, however, is a front zip for size 6-18 months and above, and it is at the bottom of the bag when closed, hidden by a clever cover.

I think the zipper is one of the features that makes the Grobag stand out, and I’m not surprised The Lullaby Trust, which promotes safer baby sleep and provides support for anyone bereaved through Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, recommends Grobag baby sleeping bags.

For parents who want to use sleeping bags in the very early days too, the Peek-a-Boo Grobag in size 0-6 months and other Grobag styles, such as Grobag Fly-a-Kite pictured above, have side zips, which also makes good sense to me.

The size Baby Boy has now looks like it can fit him for a while though, and it will then also be useful for ensuring he can’t easily get out of his cot bed, as a sleeping bag makes that more difficult when he’s ready to start climbing.

In addition to the fact that the sleeping bag helps keep Baby Boy safe, I also like that the lining of the Grobag feels soft on his skin, and it’s machine-washable and quick-drying.

Safe and practical for parents and baby!

Grobag sleeping bags are available in 3.5 tog, 2.5 tog, 1.0 tog and 0.5 tog in sizes 0-6 months, 6-18 months and 18-36 months
