Review: Little Tikes Big Car Carrier for a top toy for toddlers and preschoolers

little-tikes-big-car-carrierIn the last few months I’ve been very eager for 18-month-old Baby Boy to say more words, but he’s kept going: ‘no, no, no.’

The wait is over, however, and he now seems to have cracked the code. Some words he’s now saying in two languages, and a favourite is ‘car’. That’s why I think Father Christmas did an excellent job in guessing what he wanted for Christmas this year.

Santa’s helpers at Little Tikes very kindly sent Baby Boy the brilliant Little Tikes Big Car Carrier (£29.95)–a toy I’ve previously been recommended by friends. The Big Car Carrier, which my friend said was her son’s favourite toy for a long time, is a large and sturdy truck with two cars inside.

It’s much larger than expected and Baby Boy seems to think it’s even good for sitting on and climbing over.  The two sports cars inside, however, are easy for him to hold and drive around because they don’t have windows, so they’re better to grasp than many other toy cars of a similar size. He can pull down the ramp on the truck himself and load the cars inside and place one on the top again and again.

In summer, I can see us taking the truck out in the garden too, as the Big Car Carrier looks very durable. I also like that there’s space for Baby Boy to put other characters into the classic truck and sports cars, and his Playmobil 123 figures have already had a go at driving them.

When we had friends with a toddler over on New Year’s Eve, I showed them both the Big Car Carrier and the Little Tikes Classic Cozy Coupe (£54.99), which I think are two great buys for families looking for good value, long-lasting and durable quality toys for indoor and outdoor use.

A classic toddler and preschooler favourite!
