When a London toddler starts asking for a nanny

Sometimes I feel we already have a teenager in the house. Baby Girl may only be 2, but she definitely knows how to put up a fight and throw out comments she probably thinks will hurt my feelings.

What she doesnt know is that I’m not easily offended–particularly not when she is having a tantrum and suggesting she’d rather have a nanny,  like many of her friends do, to pick her up from nursery.

‘Give me a nanny!’ appears to be her new favourite comment.

I now get this every time she thinks I’m being really annoying and suggesting we leave somewhere she likes being. The comment is always followed by her dramatically shouting: ‘Bye bye, mummy,’ and sometimes she even adds : ‘I don’t like my mummy.’

I have a feeling I’ll be very thick-skinned by the time our fights turn from when to leave the playground to when to leave a party at night.
