Luxury dress label 1947 to host sample sale in Parsons Green

1974 Bespoke Black DressWhen I first moved to London I remember sitting in Starbucks on a few Friday nights not knowing anyone. This could not have happened after having kids.

I keep meeting new and interesting mums and dads, many who’ve started their own businesses, and I’ve just discovered one mum in the group co-founded luxury British fashion label 1947, which launched its first collection of stunning dresses hand sewn in London last year.

The local brand is all about elegant and versatile classic dresses, taking busy women from day to night. The collection, which even includes a maternity dress, takes inspiration from Dior’s new look and the two mumpreneurs behind 1947–a banker and a PR professional–worked with pattern cutters trained at McQueen and Givenchy to create designs made from the finest British and Italian wools, lined in pure silk.

Expect feminine designs, colours, defined waists and voluminous skirts–not to mention concealed pockets for that all important iPhone or Blackberry.

The sample sale is taking place today on Friday 6 May from 3-8pm and Saturday 7 May from 10am-3pm at 8 Bradbourne Street in Parsons Green. RSVP on info@1947bespoke.com. There will be a 40% discount on production samples at the sale, and the made to order and bespoke service will also be available
