Pram-friendly restaurants in Chelsea and South Kensington

Childrens_menu_No11When I was pregnant, I remember asking a mum for advice on restaurants and cafes to go to with a baby, but I was not at all impressed with her suggestions. The places she listed were not the type of places I would typically choose for a meal out, and I remember getting quite worried.

But there really was no need to be concerned. There are an array of pram-friendly restaurants and cafes in Chelsea and South Kensington. Some spacious ones even work well when meeting other friends with buggies.

Here are some of the places I visit regularly:
No 11 Pimlico Road
I often go to No 11 Pimlico Road for breakfast, lunch or a mid-week coffee, and it’s spacious and can accommodate several buggies. There are high chairs, wifi access and changing facilities. The food is lovely, and Baby Girl and I both love the scrambled eggs with avocado on the side. Breakfast is served until 11.30. They have a kids menu available from 11.30 (see picture above).

Daylesford Organic
There’s a lift at Daylesford Organic in Pimlico Road, near Sloane Square, making it easy to get to the upstairs dining area. I’ve often met up with two other friends with buggies here, and it works fine with three buggies when being seated in a corner. Daylesford Organic is  first come, first served, and I love coming for breakfast or lunch. There is no kids menu, but I always find something Baby Girl and I can share off the normal menu. There are high chairs, and the changing facilities are in the basement.

Aubaine Brompton Cross
I’ve recently discovered the breakfast menus at Aubaine, and was amazed when I realised I can have a latte, orange juice and an egg-white omelette for £10 (+service). It is fine to meet other friends with buggies here too, and last week we were two with buggies. There are changing facilities and high chairs. I also like Aubaine on Kensington High Street, but I find the Brompton Cross one even easier with buggies.

Poilane
Near Sloane Square, I often meet friends in Poilane. There are a few steps by the entrance, but there’s usually someone around who offers to help me if needed. I like coming here for a light lunch and coffee – or simply to pick up a bread or a pain au chocolat to go. There are high chairs and the changing facilities are downstairs. It’s been fine to have two buggies here.
