Top Sunday kids lunch for families at Goat in Chelsea

Goat Chelsea Kids Birthday Parties‘Why didn’t I know about this before?’

That was the first thing that came to mind after I turned up at Goat in Fulhsm Road on Sunday and dropped off an excited Baby Girl in the basement with an entertainer from Froggle Parties. There were a group of children aged 3-6 sitting on the floor in front of the entertainer when we arrived, and I was in luck. Baby Girl was happy to join in on her own, so I could sit at the table on the ground floor, watching her apple juice and waiting for her mac and cheese and broccoli to arrive.

We had been invited to try the fab Kids Club at Goat, which is on every Sunday now from noon to 3, and I absolutely love the concept. Baby Girl is great at going to restaurants, but it’s not always easy to catch up with friends or even have enough time to speak to Daddy T when out for a meal.

This time at Goat I went on my own with two children, but I could sit down and recharge the batteries after having been up from 5.20 with Baby Boy. Baby Girl was downstairs–sometimes popping up with a big smile before running down again–and when I went to check on her, she was smiling and chatting to another little girl. She was busy making friends and having fun and I was busy relaxing in a chair for once.

Before leaving I made sure I’d booked a table for the next Sunday we’re in London. We usually go out any way, and it makes great sense to go to family-friendly Goat, which serves Italian-inspired food from its open kitchen, featuring a wood fire oven. My burger was brilliant, and the kids menu includes classics like pizzas and pasta dishes–and in true Chelsea-style some pretty advanced broccoli for my three-year-old.

Whether we’re meeting a group of friends with kids or I’m having a seldom date lunch with Daddy T, I know Goat in Fulham Road will now be added to my list of favourite lunch spots.

Kids Club at Goat is on every Sunday during term time from noon to 3pm, and there is a different entertainer from Froggle Parties every week
