When it makes sense to use a professional babyproofing company

It feels like I’ve had a tremendous weight lifted off my shoulder. As of next week our home will be much safer for Baby Girl, which will allow me to feel more relaxed when we’re at home.

We started babyproofing when Baby Girl was four months old, but it has seemed like a never-ending project. Every time Baby Girl has developed a new skill or grown a little bit taller, I’ve noticed new danger zones in our home.

In the past few months, I’ve been increasingly frustrated with the unopened furniture straps and cupboard locks we have lying around because we never get around to installing everything.

The worst part was visiting friends with a one-year old in September and seeing how safe their home looked in comparison to ours.

When I found out our friends had used professional babyproofing company Baby Safe Homes, I looked it up and on Tuesday I called to find out more about the service.

The next day we had the home consultation with Chris, which is free and very informative, and I later received an estimate for all the product and installation costs.

Since I’m reviewing the London service, I have agreed a discount, but without my discount my estimate was still only around £250. The estimate included things such as drilling through a metal shoe-shelf to attach it to the wall with furniture straps, which I could never imagine Daddy T would even attempt to do.

I have no idea why we thought we could do this ourselves.

If we move, we’ll definitely pick up the phone again.
