When parents need an alternative to buying new furniture

The other week I turned up at a local dry cleaner with my coat, which had vomit all the way from the shoulder down to the knee. That was just one of many stains that needed addressing after I failed to buy Gaviscon for Baby Boy quick enough to reduce his reflux symptoms.

Another issue was the sofa. I practically thought we had to buy a new one, but for some reason it didn’t seem like the right time to replace a sofa just before Baby Boy is about to start solids and we’ll get to a whole new level of mess.

Instead, I was thrilled when I was offered a sofa clean by London’s cleaning company FastKlean to try their services. I hadn’t considered a sofa clean as an option, but within an hour, it looked like the sofa was as good as new. All the stains from the past years with children running around with sticky fingers and babies posseting left, right and centre were gone.

We had the sofa cleaning done in one hour in the morning, so by the evening the same day the sofa was dry again, and Daddy T returned home from work super impressed.

It might not be a new sofa, but it certainly felt like an upgrade. One stain-free piece of furniture to sit on.

Mummy in the City readers can enjoy an exclusive 15% off cleaning services from FastKlean with discount code MC1FK2. Upholstery cleaning services by FastKlean start from £30 for a two-seater fabric sofa, and a three-seater fabric sofa is £35. The minimum call-out charge is £60.
