How to find the best cuddly animals for baby

Kensington Wing Cuddly Rabbit Senger Tierpuppen Faye and Lou MuslinWhen Baby Girl came to visit Baby Boy and me in hospital last week there was someone she wanted to take home with her, but it was not me or our new arrival. It was Baby Boy’s brand new cuddly bunny.

The beige, floppy bunny, which we’d received to review from my favourite cuddly toy company Senger Tierpuppen, looks super sweet and I know he’ll soon become baby’s best friend. That’s why Daddy T and I wanted to have bunny ready for photo opportunities from the day Baby Boy was born, and we wanted to have picked out Baby Boy’s cuddly animal ourselves since we know how important these can be during childhood.

I asked Senger Tierpuppen to review the bunny for Baby Boy, as I’ve been extremely happy with the quality of the handmade and organic Senger Tierpuppen teddy we bought for 2.5-year-old Baby Girl before she was born.

When searching for the best cuddly animal for baby, I think it’s important to find one that is cute, soft, ideally organic, and practical. In terms of being practical, it’s best if it’s washable and doesn’t have long pile plush, as baby might then start chewing off the pile. We have two of the teddy, who comes everywhere with Baby Girl, and this is hand washable. I regularly machine wash teddy too on a wool programme with suitable laundry liquid, and I think they still look lovely.

I also like the fact that the Senger Tierpuppen cuddly animals are made from organically-produced cotton, and when we had issues with several cuddly animals when Baby Girl was at a stage when she would chew on toys, teddy remained in tact and felt safe for her to play with.

Baby Girl is now very excited that Baby Boy has teddy’s friend the bunny, and she has kindly offered to look after bunny for him.

Myriad Natural Toys and Crafts stocks some cuddly animals from Senger Tierpuppen, such as the beige, floppy bunny (£39.95).
