Visiting Spirit of Christmas 2021

While I’m just about to tidy away our Halloween decorations, I’ve somehow managed to move swiftly onto the next seasonal celebration. Yesterday morning, I joined the queue outside Kensington Olympia to visit the Christmas shopping event Spirit of Christmas–more than a year after buying my fair ticket.

With the exception of having to show a Covid pass by the entrance, it felt like a normal day at the fair, with me returning home with more Christmas ribbons and hair ties as usual.

On my list of stalls to visit were ribbon favourite Jane Means and Christmas felt-decoration specialist Amica.

For present-buying for children, I enjoyed seeing Crash Bang Kids again, which I like for their selection of outdoor toys we can bring to the park. I spotted the Ogo Sport trampoline tennis set at the stall, and for those preparing for frosty days in the park, Crash Bang Kids sells Axiski board for use on frost, snow or sand.

For personalised keepsakes for children, I adore Meminio–particularly Meminio memory folders for keeping children’s artworks safe, their stylish memory cases and personalised musical jewellery boxes.

When buying for other members of the family at Spirit of Christmas, I also love stopping by Initially London’s stall, and one year the personalised water bottles made for popular presents under the tree.

For stocking fillers, mindfulness wristbands from Three Boys Rocks, writing paper from Petra Boase and Christmas hair-band sets from By Eloise were among my favourite little finds this year.

If I’d had more time to spend at the fair, I would also have returned to Eat, Sleep, Doodle to revisit the colour-in world flag tablecloth and to Sheepers for some matching mother-daughter sheepskin slippers.

Spirit of Christmas Fair is on at Kensington Olympia 1-7 November 2021.
