Disney’s Zootropolis to hit UK cinemas over Easter

Zootropolis Toy Tomy‘What do you want to be when you grow up?’
‘I’m big now’
‘Yes, but I meant when you’re a grown-up?’
‘I want to be a police officer bunny. I have a badge’

Three-year-old Big Girl was completely smitten by Disney’s latest animation Zootropolis after attending a screening at the Disney UK offices on Saturday, and she’s now decided on her future career, determined she’ll become a police officer bunny like the main character in the film.

In true police bunny style, Big Girl walks around with a TOMY toy recorder shaped as a carrot and a police badge she received at the event. Both cute props ideal for pretending to be the fearless bunny Judy Hopps, the main character in Zootropolis.

Zootropolis will arrive in UK cinemas on 25 March, and I think the hilarious and action-packed animation is set to be a winner with different age groups despite featuring some scenes that could be frightening for young children. It tells the story of Judy Hopps, who dreams of becoming a police officer and has to beat prejudice to achieve her dream and then prove to the police chief that she deserves to be assigned important cases despite being small and the first ever police bunny.

We watched Zootropolis in 3D, which really brought the story to life, and I kept being impressed and amused by the attention to details in the graphics.

I think one of the poster images from a city scene resembling Times Square says it all. There’s a big ad for Bearberry with a smart-looking bear and one for Lululemmings with little furry friends in colourful exercising gear in the background.

When watching it I couldn’t help thinking it must have been incredibly fun to work on the creative team for this animation. They’ve even managed to make a scene laugh-out-loud funny because there are animals that don’t wear clothes.

Zootropolis is a clever and hilarious animation with lovable characters highlighting the importance of breaking down stereotypes. A fun film to watch over Easter!
