Kung Fu Panda 3 to entertain kids and parents over the summer

‘Is Kung Fu Panda real, Mummy? There was a scary creature in the film, Mummy. You know, Kung Fu Panda is also called Po’

When telling me about her day the other Sunday, three-year-old Big Girl was talking pretty non-stop. She and Daddy T had been to a preview screening of DreamWorks Animation’s Kung Fu Panda 3, and she was eager to talk all things Po after watching the film and meeting the fury panda (see picture above).

Kung Fu Panda 3 was out on Digital HD on 4 July and will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on 11 July–just in time for the school holiday.

The film, which is set to entertain parents and kids this summer, tells the story of likeable panda Po Ping, who is reunited with his biological father and travels to a secret village in China. The scary creature Big Girl talked about was supernatural villain Kai, who challenges all the Kung Fu masters in China, setting the plot for Po’s adventures.

According to Daddy T, Kung Fu Panda 3 is laugh-out-loud funny, and it’s a film both children and parents can enjoy. He loved the jokes that were aimed more at older children and parents, such as Po finding it difficult to understand the fact that the goose Mr Ping is not his biological father.

Three-year-old Big Girl climbed up on Daddy T’s lap to watch the film, as the ‘scary creature’ was at times a bit too scary for her liking, but the film was still a definite hit with her.

In fact, now that I’ve noticed it’s popped up on our Sky box, I’m sure we’ll end up watching it again over the summer. A fun summer family film!
