My Little Pony app for keeping girls entertained on holiday

If I didn’t reply to your email on Friday it may well have been because I was in the French town of Juan-Les-Pins looking for a My Little Pony with a cutie mark magic. This had suddenly become a must-buy. I had failed to pack Big Girl’s My Little Ponies for our holiday, and having a pony to scan turned out to be essential for unlocking more party options in the My Little Pony Friendship Celebration app.

The birthday party themed app is free to download and has become one of Big Girl’s favourite apps, keeping her entertained while we’ve been waiting for a flight, flying or driving. The problem for me this week was that I felt bad she didn’t have a pony with a cutie mark magic to scan to host her own party.

This was pretty frustrating on the plane over when Big Girl had discovered something she loved, and wanted to play more after attending virtual tea parties, playing party games and taking party photos at Rainbow Dash’s and Pinkie Pie’s parties.

Now that we have the pony to scan the app has become even more fabulous. It is a tad fiddly to scan the pony, but Big Girl loves hosting a party for her pony, picking out the party food and drinks and organising a party game. If she’d had more ponies here, she could also have scanned them to choose up to three guests for her pony’s party.

The colourful and girly Hasbro app keeps surprising me with fun details and as long as I scan the pony, Big Girl can do the rest herself. In fact, she’s just taught me how to cut the party cake.

It’s almost tempting to continue playing My Little Pony after she’s gone to bed to switch off and be a kid again!
