4 things to do in London with kids on warm days

Take a fun trip on the river with London Duck Tours
If Baby Boy had been slightly older I would have wanted to go on London Duck Tours in the warm weather today, as friends with kids have recommended these classic city sightseeing tours which are both on land and water. The fun tours, available in many cities around the world, seem ideal on warm days. I used to love taking a river boat trip on sunny days before kids, and as soon as the baby days are over I want to get back on the river to feel the breeze. London Duck Tours appear to be a fantastic way of introducing kids to some of the capital’s top sights and spending time outdoors at the same time.

Splash around in the water zones at London Zoo
The water play area in London Zoo (see picture above) is brilliant for young children, including a little stream where children can splash and run around. I’ve tried avoiding the area on cooler days, as Baby Girl doesn’t see an issue with her clothes getting all wet and her getting cold because I failed to bring a towel on a zoo excursion, but on a warm and sunny day like today it’s the perfect place to go with young children in London.

Enjoy the urban beach in Bishop’s Park
Bishop’s Park in Fulham must have one of the city’s best summer playgrounds, boasting a water play area for all ages open from 10am-7pm in the summer months. There’s also an impressive sand play area with soft sand, making it feel like a proper beach. The setting is idyllic in front of the pond, and when I’ve also found it’s possible to come here for an idyllic day out as long as I actually remember to bring a bucket and spade to avoid any unnecessary playground arguments.

Keep little ones entertained with water play at Battersea Park Children’s Zoo
Battersea Park Children’s Zoo, which Mummy in the City is a brand ambassador for, has recently upgraded its playground and it continues to be one of Baby Girl’s favourite London attractions. The zoo’s water play area has long been of the highlights for Baby Girl, who likes filling buckets with water and moving water around. I like that there is plenty of seating in the area – ideal for a bit of relaxation in the sun.

There’s also a mini-zoo in Golders Hill Park, with a playground and a cafe, and a beach at Brent Cross Shopping Centre, if you’re near North West London anytime!
