3 things to do with kids in London this weekend

The Sun: Living With Our Star at Science Museum
Saturday 6 October sees the opening of a new Science Museum exhibition The Sun: Living With Our Star. After going to the press preview, I’ve already recommended friends to visit this colourful exhibition with school-aged children. There are plenty of fun interactive experiences, including a game to help protect planet Earth from solar storms and a fun magic photo screen for trying on historic sunglasses. Look out for the full review on the blog soon.

Jacqueline Wilson book launch at Royal Geographical Society
Waterstones is hosting an event to celebrate the publication of My Mum Tracy Beaker by Jacqueline Wilson (Doubleday Childrens, £12.99) at the Royal Geographical Society in South Kensington on Sunday 7 October at 11am. Both Jacqueline Wilson and illustrator Nick Sharratt will be at the event, and attendees can hear the bestselling author discuss her books and watch as Nick Sharratt brings favourite characters to life on stage. Tickets are £7 for children and £10 for adults, or £19 including a copy of My Mum Tracy Beaker plus an exclusive goody-bag.

Playball Fun Day in South Park
Multi-sports class provider Playball is hosting a free fun day on the tennis courts in South Park in Fulham on Sunday 7 October from 2pm to 4pm. At the event, children aged 2 to 10 year old can try taking part in Playball games, and there will also be opportunities to win prizes. Some lucky children will even win a free term of Playball on the day.
