5 things keeping me busy on lazy summer evenings

1. Online sale shopping
When Daddy T was out the other evening and the children were fast asleep, I was planning to read a book or do something sensible, but I was quickly distracted by ‘final clearance’ emails and spent every minute of the me-time browsing discounted clothes and accessories despite not making a single purchase.

2. Late bedtimes
As soon as the school holidays started bedtime has been getting later and later, eating into my time for emails, admin and house duties at the end of the day.

3. Vacuuming
I’m not normally a particularly frequent user of the vacuum cleaner, but summer is different. There is so much sand. Sometimes I even feel I have it in my mouth, and these days we’re constantly trying to sweep the floors and vacuum to manage the indoor sand level.

4. Activity and holiday-camp booking
I’m booking everything from musical tickets to sports classes. Summer time in London can feel like it is practically planned to the minute! (Here’s a list of suggestions for London summer holiday camps)

5. (Thinking about) reading
I’ve had big plans to read this summer–not just children’s books that I read aloud to the little ones but actual grown up books.
