Best place for buying baked goods in Fulham

I know what my New Year’s resolution should have been this year. It probably should have been to cut down on my pain au chocolat consumption. But I love the French boulangerie, patisserie and deli on Wandsworth Bridge Road too much to even consider this.

Chanteroy, which opened in September, has the best pain au chocolates (50p), breads, croissants (45p) and baguettes (from 70p) we’ve found in London, and Baby Girl and I love taking the scooter over there to buy fresh baked goods on mornings we have time for a yummy breakfast.

It’s practically an educational outing too. Baby Girl knows she should say bonjour to greet the lovely Chanteroy lady, who knows her by name, and au revoir when we leave (although she usually says it outside instead). On Sundays, I’ve spotted a number of parents taking their little ones for early morning walks to the boulangerie, which opens at 8am even on weekends.

The opening of Chanteroy has also made it super easy to organise brunch play dates or have overnight guests. We can stock up on a selection of baked goods, make some scrambled eggs, cut up the avocado and get ham and cheese and other brunch favourites. Daddy T also loves the deli counter at Chanteroy with charcuterie and cheeses, and all our relatives visiting have been impressed with our French-style morning excursions.

Fantastic addition to Fulham!

Chanteroy is situated near Caffè Nero on Wandsworth Bridge Road, and the same brand also offers a French food delivery service.

Another fan of chanteroy! One of the ladies who works there (with the short/mid length brown hair) is absolutely delightful.

I know! We’ve just been there again now, and she always remembers my daughter’s name and she’s so sweet.
