Finding good kids headphones for travelling

‘Do you have headphones for her?’
‘Can you turn it down please?’
‘Can I lend you some headphones?’

When Baby Girl and I were on a short-haul flight together in November I had forgotten to bring her headphones much to a few men in suits big disappointment. I tried to keep the sound on her iPad super low, but we still appeared to stir them up and I didn’t want to start making the argument about them really being better off with a quiet Peppa Pig background noise than full-on crying.

But the uncomfortable journey has meant we don’t make the same mistake again. Baby Girl’s pink JVC headphones, recommended from 3 years, are now always packed in the LittleLife ladybird rucksack we use for travelling.

They’re not just popular with fellow passengers, but Baby Girl loves them too, and she’s ready to put them on as soon as we go in the car to the airport and gets annoyed when we tell her to wait until we’re actually onboard.

She never uses headphones for anything else, but I think it’s really worth having a pair for travelling with a toddler or older child with an iPad. I like the colourful JVC ones (JVC HA-KD5-P/R/V/Y), as the sound never gets too high and I’ve tested them myself too. They’re small in size and look comfortable with soft ear pads, and they don’t fall off Baby Girl now.

Another travel must-have!
