Finding outdoor shoes for baby
I’m not sure what I expected, but I will admit that Baby Girl has not had much use for her brand new outdoor shoes in her first three days of walking. I dragged Daddy T up to King’s Road on Saturday as soon as Baby Girl had taken her first steps. I pictured her running around in the garden at her nursery, and convinced him that she needed some all-weather shoes now that she could walk.
But I now realise a few steps here and there is not exactly the same as running around outside. It seems like it could take a couple of weeks of training before we get there.
And the new shoes aren’t exactly all-weather shoes either. We bought her the navy Start-rite shoes with soft sole, recommended by the sales assistant in Trotters, and they look like they can be worn both indoors and outdoors.
So when 12-month old Baby Girl is ready to run around in the garden at nursery, she’s all set. I’m all about sensible footwear from now on–or as long as I can manage not to buy some more cute, white baby shoes.
