Framing children’s artwork for Christmas

What do you think mummy wants for Christmas?’
Toys!
‘Eh. Not quite. What does mummy like?’
‘Painting!’

I was trying to prep Baby Girl the other day, so she could perhaps help Daddy T find something nice for me for Christmas, and if she’s in charge I have a feeling I know what I’ll get.

She loves art, and we’re regularly looking for new ways to display her little masterpieces.

I feel we’re often buying new frames these days–and I think framed artwork make lovely Christmas presents too–as there are so many childhood memories that are ideal for displaying on the walls.

That’s why I was also thrilled to be asked by eFrame to review their frames. We have a cupboard full of Baby Girl’s artwork, but some are simply too special to store in a cupboard.

One of these pieces was her first drawing of our family. In the weeks after she turned 2, she started drawing faces for the very first time. She would do a circle and add eyes, hair, mouth and nose, and she seemed really proud when she came home from nursery with a picture of mummy, daddy and Baby Girl.

This first family portrait had to be framed. I picked out white wood frames with a reflective lacquer finish from the wide collection of frames available from eFrame–a company we first ordered from several years back because how easy and affordable they make it to buy customised frames online.

I wanted these new white frames, which we were gifted, to be in Baby Girl’s room, and I decided not to have a mount to stick to a relaxed look.

Other times we’ve ordered frames from eFrame, we’ve always chosen mounts too and I feel that it looks like we’ve had the photos and memorabilia we’ve framed done professionally.

A painting, which you can perhaps have framed,  is definitely not a bad idea for a Christmas present, Baby Girl!
