Hiring a Minnie Mouse mascot for baby’s first birthday

Minnie Mouse ABC MascotsBaby Girl loves a good party. Particularly one that Minnie Mouse turns up at. She was thrilled to see Minnie Mouse take time out of her busy schedule to come to her birthday party the other week.

Minnie Mouse was a big hit with the little ones – apart from one little boy who cried when he met her.

We had hired the Minnie Mouse costume from ABC Mascots for £25 plus delivery. I had the costume delivered on the Friday and collected on Monday, and it was a very smooth process.

The only issue is that I should have been more careful with looking through items received and items we put back in the box on the Monday. It turned out Minnie Mouse’s lycra top and bow had gone missing, and the lycra top was later found at Baby Girl’s party venue.

But I would have done it all again. As long as we have someone else available to play a character and put on a used costume, Baby Girl can have as many cartoon-themed birthdays as she wants. Happy party planning, Baby Girl.

    Did you find ABC Mascots reliable? I am having problems with them and was wondering whether they were a genuine company or not?

      They were reliable in terms of sending the costume on time and collecting it on the day agreed. I didn’t have any issues with that.

      After returning it, however, I was contacted because two parts were missing, and we only managed to locate and return one of those two. I’ve not received the deposit back, and I will chase them about this, as I was expecting to get some of it back – or an explanation in regards to how much they will charge me for the missing piece.

      But I would still use them again, and next time I would have checked the costume more thoroughly before packing it back in the box. I would perhaps also ask them for a list of all the items that make up the costume to ensure I don’t make the same mistake again.

      Hi, I am desperate to hear if Peppa Pig will be appearing at my daughters birthday in 10 days – I have paid £100 in hire cost, deposit and courier fees but get no response to my email and the phone number on their website does not work…

    I am seriously unhappy with the lack of response I have had with regards the return of my deposit from a peppa pig costume. I have sent numerous emails and everytime I phone my calls are cancelled. It has been almost two weeks since we returned the costume and apart from one response asking for my bank details, which I have sent, I am still waiting to hear from someone and get my deposit back!

As explained to Rachel we had been closed for a well needed family holiday and tried our hardest to get the deposit back to her as quick as possible, We don’t like to upset any of our customers and hope we have now put your mind at ease Rachel, the full deposit has been returned but we didn’t get your details through before we went away for a little mini holiday (Family run Business, Well a Mummy run Business 🙂 Wish you all the Best and glad you had fun with the mascot.

      Of response. I have today recieved the full deposit after 2 weeks of stressing! I sent my bank details well before your so called explained well needed family holiday! I too would have loved a little break even if for a night but unfortunately was £50 adrift which may not seem like a lot but to me it is! I have to say the quality of your costume was outstanding but your communication skills leave a lot to be desired and the patronising reply you have left on here proves to me that you are certainly not a company that I will be using again nor will I be recommending!

    Hi Rachel, I’m so sorry if you thought I was being patronizing as this was not my attention at all and anybody who knew me through being a customer or a friend would know I only do my hardest to try and accommodate people and to make everyone happy. We had a well deserved family holiday because we had a death in the family and we needed to get away which was just for a couple of nights but I didn’t want to mention that on the phone but I do feel I need to explain to you as I would not wish of any of my customers to think badly of me or My Company. I wish you all the best for the Future

      I too had to deal with a death last wk myself so I know how you feel and you have my sympathy but my annoyance comes from the lack of response through the whole of the transaction. On top of this after reading other reviews where other people have had trouble regarding the return of deposit and contact issues, this left me feeling like I wasn’t going to get anywhere, a simple reply to an email would have made a world of difference. I have my deposit which I thank u for and have to say I appreciate the manner in your most recent response so am happy to leave it at that.

    I tried to hire an iggle piggle costume on 15/08/2014 for my son’s 1st bday as it was a great price and paying transaction went fine. I switched from paying for a courier delivery to collection as I thought it would be more convenient and could avoid the courier fees. Only 2 days before the collection date 15/08/2014 did the company email me to say that I needed a full driver’s licence and own car to pick up the costume or get someone I know that has a car and full licence to pick up as puclic transport (which I understand) and minicab collections are not allowed. This was not clear on their website at all as the site only mentions you can only collect with a ‘driver’s licence’ which I thought would be ok as I have a provisional licence but this is not the case which is very misleading!!

    I tried to email Mark the same day he sent me the information about collection (2 days before collection date) and asked if they could refund me my costume hire fee that I paid as I could not find anyone with a full licence and car to pick up the costume but did not get a reply at all. So in the end I lost out on my £25.00 and no Iggle Piggle costume for my boy’s 1st bday.

    So to all non-driving mums or mums without cars, only use this company if you can definitely get someone to pick it up or opt for courier delivery and pay the £12.50 per delivery/collection fee. I think there are better costume hire companies out there 🙁
