How to do an express pedicure at home

Yesterday I think I did pretty well at celebrating UK’s National Spa Week. I had a gel manicure at Bliss in Sloane Avenue, a massage with Home Spa London, and a hair cut by mobile children’s hairdresser Lina’s Magic Scissors, who I just found out can cut mum and dad’s hair too when life is a bit too hectic to get to a hair salon.

The only treatment I’d missed off my list was a pedicure, and the last pedicure I had was performed by our in-house nail technician–three-year-old Baby Girl. My feet often feel tired and aching, as having a baby and a preschooler typically means running around in boots, fulfilling Baby Girl’s wish of going “super duper fast” on the buggy board. Not ideal if I had been focused on foot care.

At the end of a long day yesterday, I wanted to make an effort, however, and pulled out Scholl Velvet Smooth, an electronic roller foot file I had received to review.

I had been a bit afraid to try this at first since it said electronic, and I was worried it would hurt. I’m not sure why I was such a wimp though. The roller, which features tiny diamond crystals to remove hard skin, has no sharp blades and automatically stops if too much pressure is applied. It is easy to start and stop, and I had incredibly soft feet in minutes.

It turns out getting silky smooth feet requires minimum effort. There’s really no excuse not to feel good anymore!
