London kids birthday party venues: Cupcake Family Club

Cupcake Club Princess PartyWhen Baby Girl was planning celebrating turning three she first wanted to have the party at home, with her reason being that she wanted her guests to have toys to play with. Daddy T wasn’t exactly thrilled with her plans, and I suddenly realised we had to find somewhere else to meet these requirements.

I took Baby Girl to see Cupcake Family Club in Parsons Green, and it was an instant hit. There were definitely toys. More than enough of them, and it was also not too far from home but could offer us a bigger party space. This would most definitely do.

Cupcake Family Club
Located in the heart of Parsons Green, Cupcake Family Club offers an ideal party space for children’s birthdays. There are three rooms to choose from, with the most popular choice being the ground floor area, where there are sofas, a play corner and large windows.

The club closes at 1pm on Saturdays, and we came at 1.30pm to start decorating before guests arrived at 3pm. There were two members of staff present when we arrived, and they were extremely helpful and went above and beyond to make Baby Girl’s party special. They seemed to have a special talent in putting together a Meri Meri princess centrepiece, put up pink balloons, set out tables where we wanted them, organised the sound system, put drinks in their fridge and kept ensuring they helped in any way they could.

Cupcake Club Hummingbird BakeryWe had chosen a bespoke party package, starting from £180, and with this option we could bring in our own party food and decorations and we still had the option to pay for various party add-ons.

In the price, however, Cupcake Club still provided tables and chairs, and we chose to pay a £20 corkage fee to bring in our own champagne for parents and a £30 external entertainer fee to bring in Rapunzel.

The main difference between having a bespoke party at Cupcake and the party we had at Number 11 last year was that we now served the drinks and put out the food ourselves, but since we had received the fun and delicious party food boxes from Elves and Ovens there was very little to do in terms of serving the children.

For adults, we had a drinks and food table, where we first served crostini with tapenade and then pastel-coloured cupcakes from Hummingbird Bakery placed on the Meri Meri centrepiece.

Cupcake also offers party packages where food, staff, entertainment and more can be included, but I think the party Baby Girl had this year was exactly what she wanted.

I certainly wasn’t expecting my three-year-old to say ‘thank you’ after the two-hour event!
