Mummy-time Hot chocolate

Relaxing at home with a warming Cadbury hot chocolate

The other day I got slightly worried about three-year-old Big Girl’s comment. She asked me to save a bit of milk, so she could whizz up some milk and chocolate powder before I poured hot milk into her mug.

I now have a feeling I’ve implemented some pretty bad after-school routines.

After receiving a Cadbury Drinking Chocolate powder to try the other week, Big Girl and I have often had a hot chocolate with mini marshmallows after school. The Cadbury Drinking Chocolate surprised me, as growing up in another country meant I hadn’t tried the iconic British chocolate powder before, and I’m now a bit hooked.

To keep us going in the cold weather, we’ve loved enjoying a hot drink at home in the kitchen in the late afternoon on some days, giving us time to sit down and relax. Big Girl was coughing for weeks and seemed exhausted by the end of term, so a hot drink in her little mug appeared to be the answer.

A warming drink and a bit of quality time have been great for lifting the mood at times when being a mum has felt like a pretty exhausting job.

Phew.
