Review: Fisher-Price Rainforest Friends Take Along Swing & Seat for calming and entertaining baby

Fisher Price Take Along Swing and Seat‘Baby, say: “Thank you, Big Sister!”‘

Baby Girl had moved a chair for Baby Boy on Monday morning and was expecting him to be polite and thank her. The truth, however, is that Baby Boy is not quite there yet. At the age of four weeks, Baby Boy is more at the stage where I get excited when he has his eyes open without screaming hysterically.

He’s now clearly waking up to the world, and this week I’ve started introducing baby toys, including the Fisher-Price Rainforest Friends Take Along Swing & Seat I’ve received to review.

Vicki Scott, midwife and founder of New Baby Company, had advised us to get a swing for Baby Boy, as she thought it would be useful for me with two children, and I can now see why, as it offers me more flexibility.

The Fisher-Price Rainforest Friends Take Along Swing & Seat, which has a six-speed swing, 10 tunes and two nature sounds and calming vibrations, is convenient for a London baby since it folds flat, has a carry-handle and is easy to move around the house. It can be used for both entertaining baby and calming baby, and I like that it gives me another place where Baby Boy can sit safely next to us when needed.

I’m impressed with the fact the technology senses baby’s weight, meaning the speed won’t change when Baby Boy gets bigger, and the swing starts smoothly when we turn on the speed.

This week, Baby Boy has also taken note of the lion and elephant dangling in front of him when seated in the colourful and padded seat–a very exciting development even for a second time mum.

I can’t wait for when he’ll start trying to bat his rainforest animals in the coming weeks, and since Baby Girl said yesterday that she wanted “a bigger baby” I have a feeling she’ll be thrilled when he gains some new skills too.

To keep it interesting right now she’s happy about being his personal DJ though. As soon as I place Baby Boy in the seat, she runs over to control the music and has picked her favourite tune, which she describes as a “good nighttime song”.

The Fisher-Price Rainforest Friends Take Along Swing & Seat (Toys R Us £82.99) has enough features to make it fun for baby for awake time and great for mum when trying everything to soothe baby.
