Review: In the Night Garden Explore and Learn Musical Activity Table for pretend play and learning games

In the Night Garden Activity Table ProductBefore we had Baby Girl I wanted to ensure our living room wasn’t turned into a mini playground. That plan didn’t last very long.

I soon realised toys were invaluable for keeping baby entertained and giving me the few minutes needed to grab something to eat, get dressed and so on. In fact, I soon regretted not having ensured Baby Girl had more toys at home in the early days.

Now I know better, and I’m not going to make the same mistake with Baby Boy. Large toys that take over our living room are no problem. He can definitely have fun toys to support baby development and put a smile on his face.

That’s why I was thrilled to receive the In the Night Garden Explore and Learn Musical Activity Table from Golden Bear Toys to review the other week, which turns out to be the ultimate sibling toy. I remember Baby Girl loving an activity table when she was a baby and could pull herself up to standing.

The one she tried then, however, was more baby focused than the In The Night Garden table, and three-year-old Baby Girl now loves borrowing the new table from Baby Boy.

She has been a fan of the show, and she now likes sitting with the table playing with the characters. For her it’s all about pretend play and playing with the Makka Pakka, Igglepiggle and Upsy Days figurines that comes with the table. She can also use it to play number, shapes and colour games.

For Baby Boy, who will currently mainly have to watch from the side, we can remove the table top and place it on the floor for him to see the lights and hear the music. I’m sure he’ll also enjoy standing by the table when he’s a bit older and can use the squeaky hammer to play games and turn the pages in the little  storybook to hear the short stories.

Lasting fun!

In the Night Garden Explore and Learn Musical Activity Table (£59.99) is suitable for children aged 12 months and over
