Sharky & George launches Christmas Grotto at Market Hall Fulham

‘That was super fun!’

Yesterday we got to experience a London-style snowball fight. It’s the only snowball fight I’ve been in that has included large sacks of soft and cuddly snowballs and featured Father Christmas. In fact, it was a bit mad–but I completely agree with Big Girl. This was ‘super fun’.

We were at the press preview of the new Sharky & George Christmas Grotto at Market Hall Fulham, and the session included crafts activities, a meet and greet with Father Christmas, Christmas-themed Sharky & George games and a snowball fight. It all took place in a festive setting, and guests were taken up a snowy staircase and through a charming Forest-themed room before entering the large space where all the fun took place.

In this main room, there was a Christmas tree, a pretend fireplace and a leather armchair where Father Christmas was sitting when meeting each child. Next to his corner, there were long tables for crafting, and Big Girl and Big Boy got to make crackers and chocolate at the preview.

The new grotto is launching on Saturday, and there are one-hour sessions running until Christmas. I think it will be ideal for children who enjoy the fun party games and lively atmosphere that many mini Londoners will have come to expect from popular children’s entertainment company Sharky & George, and it will appeal to families who might want something different than a traditional grotto.

I’ve never seen the children laugh this much at any other grotto. The opportunity to dance around the room as a snowman and a penguin together with Father Christmas and then later bombard him with cuddly snowballs was clearly very special–and sure to put a smile on the face of any parent watching from the sideline too.

The Sharky & George Christmas Grotto will be open on select days from 1 to 23 December. Tickets are £25 per child and include the Sharky & George fun and games, two craft activities, a present from Father Christmas and a personal experience chatting to Father Christmas. There are special “My First Grotto” session for under 2s where parents are encouraged to join in, but for older children, parents will be encouraged to drop off for the first half of the experience.
