Sponsored: Creating a dream horse with Petplan Equine

On the afternoon when my little artist worked on a horse drawing, I heard about everything from rainbow-coloured horses to flying horses with fairy-style wings. Being invited to draw a dream horse as part of a campaign with Petplan Equine must have been pretty amazing.

The first finished drawing I found on our kitchen table showed a blue horse with star print, a pink saddle, a tri-coloured unicorn horn and a gold necklace. It was the most unique horse I’ve ever seen, but for the artist it still wasn’t good enough.

In a second drawing, the horse changed colour to pink, while the colourful horn and necklace were added back in. The new horse also boasted a dark pink noseband and the all-important fluffy pink bow on the tail.

There were limited similarities to the ponies we’ve booked for lessons in Richmond Park in the past – apart from the stirrups and friendly face.

After submitting the pink horse drawing and waiting a couple of weeks, we had another eventful afternoon. The pink horse – now named Star – had been turned into a gorgeous soft toy. The size meant Star has become an ideal doll horse, but also a much-loved cuddly toy that goes to sleep in a special place every night.

The new dream horse has a happy look and is well cared for – just like any more standard dream horses.

Petplan Equine has since its inception been focused on keeping the nation’s horses healthy and happy, offering Petplan Equine Horse insurance. Thank you to Petplan Equine for making this post possible.
