5 things to remember before going on holiday

1. Fill the freezer with kids-friendly meals
When returning from holiday I’ve often been annoyed with myself for not having planned a dinner for the kids before going. Last year I was well-prepared and filled the freezer with fish pie and cottage pie from children’s meal delivery service Piccolo Plates, which I’ve ordered food from a number of times after reviewing the service.

2. Book holiday camps and activities
Since some London kids holiday camps and workshops fill up quickly, it can be useful to book camps early for days at home. See my list of 18 London summer holiday camps HERE

3. Order nametags to ensure kids are ready for school and nursery
To avoid any last minute stresses in September, I like ordering washable sticker nametags for clothes from My Nametags early, and I usually try to do it before getting into holiday mode.

4. Book shows
August can be a great month for enjoying theatre shows with children both because of the huge selection on shows on offer and Kids Week offers. See my overview of what’s on stage for families in London HERE and more about Kids Week HERE

5. Plan term-time activities
Although we still haven’t finished the summer term or started a long school holiday, many activity providers are already taking bookings for September. Now is the time to get that autumn term schedule sorted!
